Krista O’Brien is an Arizona native seeking re-election to the SRP District Board as an at-large candidate for seat 12. She is an accomplished practitioner in sustainability, business, and policy, with 14+ years of experience.

During the day, Krista serves as a Senior Project Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Networks, at Arizona State University (ASU), Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory.

She is focused on: keeping Arizona’s energy future clean and affordable; making the grid resilient to rising temperatures; ensuring sufficient water storage for constituents; supporting ratepayer energy-efficiency programs; prioritizing investments in leading technologies such as solar, wind, and energy storage.

Krista is a strong advocate for transparency and public disclosure from SRP management to constituents. She frequently requests that management publish additional supporting information to constituents when the stakes are high financially or environmentally.

First and foremost, Krista believes that SRP, as a not-for-profit, should serve the community with complete transparency and prioritize ratepayer feedback.

Krista O’Brien voted against the SRP price increases that took effect in November 2025.
